Idea of perspective and reflection

  • Internal thought, shown by physical reflection

  • Calls you to look on yourself and others, simultaneously viewing your experience with others around you (in a gallery setting)

  • Modular elements allow the piece to be placed differently each time it is shown or allow room for growth. It could develop from 7 to 9 structures and so on. This element of creating a different experience speaks on the fundamental core of an experience – it can change as one remembers it and reflects the aspect that people experience life uniquely.

  • Colored (transparent) glass vs. clear; shows variety in people, experiences, and emotions. The abstracted landscape comes from a personal viewpoint; my feelings and experiences are strongly tied to locations.

Artist's Package

This package involves everything mentioned above and more! You get art that you can hang on your walls and art to wear (please contact me what size with proof of pledging $100 or more). I want major benefactors to receive recognition, so your name will be posted on the wall text of my exhibition.

I want to make the work prominent, so it can be more immersive. I envision it occupying space that could be 100 square feet, with a few sectional pieces nearly seven feet high. I imagine walking into a room where the sculpture is placed centrally on the ground.

Suspending the glass at different angles allows the play of color; it could be beautiful to see what happens with the lights and shadows and how that interacts with the piece and its surrounding environment. The choice of materials, glass, and metal is highly industrial. However, the imagery morphed into an abstract landscape. My work lives between organic vs. inorganic, nonrepresentational vs. representational, mechanical vs. nature, and this idea of coexistence. A sublime aspect of the natural world and awe of human creation. It’s a difficult conversation about the things we have done to benefit humankind that could now lead to civilization’s end.
